Facility
AHTC is located at 112929 Elm St, Suite 17E. Upon entering the main level, take a left turn down the hallway.
Classroom
AHTC consists of one classroom with clinical skills training on site. The classroom is equipped with chairs and tables, computer and television.
Equipment for Training
Nursing assistant students will demonstrate competency through hands-on clinical practice, skills assessments, and written exams, ensuring they are proficient in essential patient care tasks and adhere to healthcare standards. Medication aide students will demonstrate their competency in passing medications, documenting medications, and administering oral, rectal, topical, and sublingual medications. This is part of the classroom experience.

Enrollment Procedures
To enroll in the course, students may register online and complete the online registration form found here or fill out a paper registration form to be submitted to AHTC 11929 Elm St Suite 17E, Omaha, Nebraska. Late enrollments are subject to approval by administration.

Credit Granted Policy
No credit is granted for previous education, training, or experience. Credit will not be granted as programs are clock hours only.
Student Conduct
All students are expected to obey all laws, regulations, and policies of the nation, state, community, and school.
Honesty and integrity are expectations while enrolled in the learning organization. Students may be dismissed when violations occur. Due process is provided. Suspension or dismissal may be the first action depending on the severity of the violations. Students must show respect for the authority of the faculty and abide by the policies of the school.

Attendance Policy
Students are expected to attend all sessions of the class in which they are enrolled. To meet course requirements and pass the course, the required hours of attendance must be completed. Absences may result in failure of a course.
If a crisis has occurred, faculty must be notified immediately of the absence and reason. The course instructors have the right to adjust class schedules as necessary, at no extra charge to the student.
Students seeking readmission due to unsatisfactory attendance must follow the readmission policy.
Student Complaints
Students who believe they have an academic or non-academic complaint should make every effort to resolve the issue with the person(s) involved. If the complaint is not resolved, the student can request a meeting with the instructor or administrator where the information can be presented by the student.
The information will be documented and reviewed, and the student will be informed of the resulting decision. The student may contact the Program Director of Private Postsecondary Career Schools at the Nebraska Department of Education.
Dismissals
Students may be dismissed due to such reasons as attendance problems. Readmission will be allowed for the next three months. If the student is unable to complete the course as scheduled, the student may reschedule for a future session for a period of up to, but no more than, 3 months.
The official date of termination will be the last date of student attendance and documented on the attendance record.
Refund Policy
Students who withdraw from courses may receive a prorated tuition refund. Refunds shall be mailed within 45 days of official request. If the official request occurs within 72 hours of registration / enrollment, a full refund is suitable. Contact the Program Director for refund requests.
The request must be in writing and be postmarked within 72 hours of registration/enrollment. If official request occurs after 72 hours of registration/enrollment but before classes have begun, a $150 enrollment fee is NOT refundable and remaining tuition and fees will be refunded.
After classes have started, a $150 enrollment fee is NOT refundable and remaining tuition and fees will be refunded as follows:
Day 1: 50 percent refund of tuition and fees after $150 fee is assessed minus materials.
Day 2: 25 percent refund of tuition and fees after $150 fee is assessed minus materials.
Day 3: no refund of tuition and fees
After classes have started, costs associated with course materials are nonrefundable.

Program Objectives
At the completion of the basic nursing assistant training, the participant will be able to:
1. Identify the work setting and the job responsibilities of the nursing assistant. Concepts include communication, safety precautions, and emergency care.
2. Apply skills and principles used in the role of the nursing assistant to aid residents to meet their basic physical and safety needs.
3. Explore the nursing assistant’s role in meeting love and belonging, self-esteem, and self-actualization needs of the resident.
At the completion of the medication aide training, the participant will be able to:
1. Recognize the basic competencies needed in order to safely provide another person with his or her medications in accordance with the Nebraska Medication Aide Act.
2. Identify specific drug classifications, actions, side effects, and use to treat or prevent disease.
3. Recognize the responsibilities of the medication aide in relation to additional activities such as PRN medications; providing medications by vaginal, rectal, tube, or inhaled routes; and providing insulin by injection.

Satisfactory Progress
Satisfactory progress in the course of study requires achievement of a grade of 70% or higher for NA and 72% or higher for MA on a scale of 100% involving measurements and evaluations of student progress in the course. Satisfactory academic progress in the courses will be measured and evaluated by the completion of worksheets, quizzes, exams, and the demonstration of skill competencies.
Progress reports will be made by the instructor. These will inform students of their scores on all graded course requirements and whether they are making satisfactory progress in the course at a 70% (NA) 72% (MA) or above grading level. Students will be informed in writing if they are failing a course due to not making satisfactory progress according to the required grading measurements. Academic probation is not available.

The courses offered does not qualify for Financial Aid.

Placement Assistance
Placement assistance is not an active part of the school’s role. The school will provide networking possibilities.
Parking
Parking is allowed in any available parking space.
Restaurants
Restaurants are located close to the class or you may bring your own lunch.
Solicitations
The sale or solicitation of goods and/or services, including free samples, is not allowed during class time at AHTC.
Smoking
Smoking is prohibited unless in a designated smoking area.
